A Love at Sunset: Capturing a Magical Proposal in Tamarindo
I had the honor of documenting a beautiful marriage proposal on the beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Mac, the future groom, reached out to me with the idea of capturing this special moment right at the perfect sunset.
To make sure everything went smoothly, I brought a friend along. I pretended to be doing a photoshoot for her while she kept an eye out for the couple’s arrival and gave me the signal at the exact moment. This strategy allowed me to be ready without raising any suspicion, ensuring I could capture every detail naturally.
When my friend gave me the signal, I knew it was time. I quickly focused my camera and started capturing every moment of the proposal. From the emotion on Mac and his partner’s faces to their love-filled, surprised reaction, each image reflected the intensity of that magical moment.
After congratulating them and giving them a moment to take it all in, we began an engagement session to celebrate this new chapter in their lives. With the sun setting on the horizon and the ocean as a backdrop, we captured images filled with love and connection.
We were lucky that, at that very moment, some horses passed by on the beach, perfectly complementing the scene. The silhouettes of the couple with the horses and the sunset created an even more romantic and magical image.
Witnessing moments like these is one of the greatest privileges of my work. Every love story is unique, and I feel fortunate to document them so they can last forever.
